We all love the soothing and revitalizing properties that a cup of ORGANO™ tea brings us. But do you know the origin of this delicious drink?

The tea, scientifically named Camellia sinensis, is native to East Asia. It was first used in China for as a medicinal drink in Yunnan province during the Shang Dynasty (1500 BC–1046 BC), as a medicinal drink.

Over the following centuries, the Chinese developed different methods for oxidizing and drying the leaves, resulting in the different types of tea we know today.

The habit of consuming tea spread to neighbouring countries such as Japan, Korea, India, and Vietnam, but did not arrive in Europe until the late 16th century.

In England, it became one of the most popular products in the East, sparking rapid expansion throughout the British Empire, reaching every corner of the world from North America to Australia and South Africa.

Today, tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water. Due to its high level of antioxidants, it is still used as a health-enhancing agent, and its various types offer unique flavours to meet everyone’s needs.

ORGANO™ Organic Green tea promotes healthy blood pressure, soothes the mind and body, while ORGANO™ Red tea energizes with the power of adaptogens.
